Ben started racing in hire karts at Brentwood karting during 2011. He learnt here for 18 months and moved on to owner driver racing at Rye House, Buckmore Park and Bayford Meadows. Racing in the Junior Subaru class in the Kent Cup championship he won his first year in 2013. A team of drivers (Ben, James and Greg) entered the Sodi World Series competition, which featured hire kart racing on an international level. Scoring points during 2013 put the team 8th in the world. In 2014 Ben and his school team won the BSKC (British Schools Karting Championship).
In 2015 Ben moved up to the highly competitive Ginetta Junior championship. The series featured 10 race meetings throughout the year, all of them supporting the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC). Ben had a few top 10 finishes, which is good considering it was his first year in car racing.
For 2016 the team has moved up a class into the Ginetta GT4 Supercup series. This races on the same meeting as Ginetta Juniors and supports the BTCC. The Supercup cars are much faster than the Junior cars and will be a big learning curve for Ben. The team had its first out right podium at Donington this year with a P3 finish from starting 6th in race 3. Later on in the year at Knockhill the team had a fantastic weekend, finishing with 2 more podiums and a very close 4th place.
At the end of 2016 Ben entered into a V de V race in Portugal. The 6 hour race would involve Ben driving the new Ginetta G57 for 2 hours. Ben and his team mates finished 3rd in class after starting from the back of the entire grid, which featured LMP3 and GT3 cars.
Brentwood Karting - Where it began
Ben started racing in the academy at Brentwood Karting aged 13, in June 2011. He proceeded to race there for a year and a half, learning all that he knows and competing in some very close races.
